Harmony Account Deletion
Effective date: 7 September 2026
Harmony is operated by SIA Design Elevator.
This page explains how to delete a Harmony account and what happens to personal and shared household information.
How to delete your account
Account deletion can be initiated directly inside Harmony:
Settings → Account → Delete account
Harmony may require you to sign in again before deletion for security reasons.
You do not need to email support in order to initiate account deletion.
What happens when you delete your account
Deleting your Harmony account is not the same as signing out.
After deletion is confirmed and processed:
- your Harmony account access ends;
- your household memberships are removed;
- your personal profile is deleted or de-linked;
- account-specific local data is cleared;
- your Harmony subscription entitlement state is cleared from the deleted Harmony account;
- you can no longer access household data using that account.
Deletion cannot normally be undone.
Personal data
Information belonging only to your account is deleted or de-linked where applicable, including:
- Harmony profile information;
- email and account information stored by Harmony;
- personal account settings;
- personal preferences;
- account-only avatars;
- authentication-related Harmony identifiers;
- the Harmony StoreKit app-account token;
- notification or device tokens associated specifically with the account;
- other account-only information that is no longer required.
Harmony also removes or de-links Harmony-assigned user identifiers from analytics, diagnostics or messaging systems where those services support it.
Shared household data
Harmony is a shared-household service.
Some records remain relevant to another authorised household member even after one user deletes their account.
If another active household member remains, shared records may therefore remain, including:
- expense history;
- receipts;
- shared attachments;
- agreements;
- approval history;
- settlements;
- equalisation records;
- advances;
- external contributions;
- categories;
- household configuration;
- child profiles;
- child information;
- household chat;
- chat attachments.
The remaining user continues to have access only according to Harmony's permissions.
Deleted-user identity
Where a historical record must remain, Harmony minimises or anonymises the deleted user's identity where feasible.
A historical entry may, for example, display a neutral label such as:
Deleted member
or retain a non-login historical identifier necessary for accounting consistency.
Harmony does not retain an email address, authentication-provider identity, avatar or other unnecessary private account information merely to preserve a shared financial record.
Historical financial amounts, agreements and settlement calculations are not altered merely because an account is deleted.
Chat messages
Messages may remain while another authorised household member retains legitimate access to the shared conversation.
Where feasible, the deleted user's active identity is removed or minimised.
Shared attachments may remain while another active household member legitimately retains access.
When the household itself becomes eligible for deletion, remaining messages and attachments are included in that deletion.
Child information
Child profiles belong to the shared household where multiple authorised household members have access.
Deleting one adult's account therefore does not automatically delete a child profile while another authorised household member remains.
When the final active household member deletes their account, child records are included in the household deletion process.
When the last household member deletes their account
When no active members remain, the household is scheduled for full deletion.
This may include:
- household records;
- membership records;
- child profiles;
- expenses;
- receipts;
- agreements;
- settlements;
- categories;
- chat;
- images;
- attachments;
- other household data.
We aim to remove eligible data from active systems within 30 days.
Retention exceptions
Some information may be retained for longer where necessary:
- to comply with law;
- to establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
- to investigate fraud or security incidents;
- because of limited backup-retention schedules.
Backup copies are not treated as active Harmony accounts and are removed according to their applicable backup lifecycle.
Sign in with Apple
If your account uses Sign in with Apple, Harmony will perform the required credential-revocation steps during account deletion.
Deleting Harmony does not delete your Apple ID.
Google Sign-In
Deleting a Harmony account authenticated through Google does not delete your Google account.
Email/password
Where an account uses email/password authentication, Harmony removes the Harmony/Firebase authentication identity after any necessary security and reauthentication steps.
App Store subscriptions
Deleting your Harmony account does not automatically cancel an active Apple App Store subscription.
If you no longer want the subscription to renew, manage or cancel it separately using Apple's subscription-management tools.
Account deletion is not blocked because an active subscription exists.
Temporary deletion failures
Deletion may involve multiple services.
If a temporary technical problem interrupts the process, Harmony may retain a limited deletion-status record so that cleanup can safely resume.
Normal account access should not be restored merely because a cleanup task is still pending.
Privacy requests
Deleting your account does not limit other privacy rights you may have.
